Orchid Monk, the first painting I created in Barcelona, becomes a symbol of tranquility, well-being, and connection with the universal flow.
As I was shading the white canvas at the center — originally intended to remain faceless — I became curious: how might facial features manifest in this state? My hands surrendered to the feeling, and I painted a face that seemed to emerge on its own. Deep in meditation, the monk embodies both the feminine and the masculine. He offers the viewer a moment of silent concentration, focused presence, and the embodiment of the "now" — a state where one knows what they are doing, what they want, and walks their path with peace.
Orchids captivate with their tenderness, fragility, and the desire to touch the bud and preserve its bloom forever. In the physical world, flowers wither, but the realm of energy is eternal. In this painting, the orchid represents spiritual beauty, which can be reached through an inner journey to oneself.
