Orchids inspire me. They are exquisite flowers, infinitely diverse — matte, textured, monochrome, multicolored, angular, delicate, lush… At some point, I saw an orchid with horizontally stretched petals, and the image of a woman crowned by an orchid emerged in my mind — a woman who knows herself, who perceives both the outer and inner world with equal depth. A woman as a symbol of peace, as a representation of harmony and strength, beauty and prosperity. Every glance, every gesture she makes is filled with tranquility, profound truth, and a natural sense of awareness. This is how this image was born.
Her monumental eyes, an integral face — for me, the most important aspect was to convey a gaze that is both detached yet intensely focused — simultaneously fixated on something specific and utterly unfocused. It is a play between the inner and outer world.
Which of the two feels more real in Orchid Diva?
